FROM THE BEGINNING
A little over 10 years ago, we believe God placed a call on our lives to begin planting churches in South Calgary that would be about sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, as well as enriching the communities in which they were planted. Our vision was two-fold. First, we want to plant churches that share Jesus and strengthen communities. Second, we desire to plant churches that multiply church-planting churches. To date, we have planted three churches, starting with Southwinds Church in 2007, Junction Church in 2015, and Multiply Church in 2018. The next church plant will be near the southeast community of Legacy.
Each church operates within distinct neighborhoods, enriching the community with activities like summer camps, block parties, and small groups. As we offer those things, we are able to initiate deeper conversations about faith and Jesus. Our hope is to see individuals and communities transformed by the love and grace Jesus offers to us all.
It also is our hope to plant even more churches going forward, which is why the Community Life Network was formed. We envision an overarching organization that lays the groundwork for future church planters. Its primary work is to conduct community research, form relationships with Calgary city leaders, and provide church-planting resources and training.
